I have
two of Anne
Kullberg's books, they are excellent for learning a technique as she is
painstaking in the details, which is what we all need when we are
starting out. Her books do not teach you how to draw, there are other
books for that, but they do teach you how she does her beautiful
colored pencil work.
When
I first got back into drawing a couple of years ago, after a hiatus of
several years where all I did was doodle and plan other people's
activities, this was one of the most helpful places I could have found.
The people at Wetcanvas are always helpful and always upbeat, (they
don't let the nasty ones stay, thank heavens!) Please feel free to join
the group, as you will get lively and helpful words from the monitors
and members.
Again,
when I was just getting back into this lovely avocation, I discovered
that the place I had always gone for supplies was no longer there. A
friend pointed me to blick online, and I have never regretted listening
to here advice. The supplies are always fresh and in good shape when
they arrive, and if they are not, Blick replaces them. An excellent
company to do business with.
deviantArt
started out as an online resource for skin artists, I believe, but you
will find all varieties there now. A good place to get feedback and
fellowship.
